Meena Mendiratta and her daughter Nitika Mendiratta, together run a NGO – SASR (Society for Advance Study in Rehabilitation) in Surajkund area of Faridabad, Haryana. The NGO supports a wide range of initiatives that help rehabilitation of individuals with disabilities such as Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Intellectual Impairment, Multiple Disabilities etc. SASR also provides services to mainstream schools for establishing inclusive practices for integrating children with disabilities. Objective of this website is to bring individuals with special needs, their parents, special educators, schools and rehabilitation professionals on a common platform for issues of training and empowerment of individuals with disabilities.

Meena Mendiratta, an Advisor to SASR (Society for Advance Study in Rehabilitation) Special School & Vocational Center for individuals with developmental disabilities; and Faculty for RCI Diploma Programmes at SASR Teacher Training Institutes; is a Post Graduate in Psychology and Bachelors from Delhi University. She has DEd in Special Education – Cerebral Palsy and Diploma in Early Childhood Special Education – Mental Retardation. Two articles authored by Meena; “Tools for the New Generation Special Education Teachers” and “Family Support towards Empowerment” were published in ‘Share and Care’ magazine of Integrated Institute for the Disabled, Varanasi, UP. Nitika is a sought after speaker and resource person on issues related to inclusion, education, training, employment, and empowerment of individuals with developmental disabilities and their families. She has given lectures and presentations on invitation to NIEPMD (National Institute for Empowerment of Persons with Multiple Disabilities), Amity University, Indian Association of Rehabilitation Professionals (IARP) and for Navshikhar Channel of RCI (Rehabilitation Council of India). Ph.D. Multiple Disabilities Scholar, MEdSE-MR, MSc Psychology, MSc IT, PG Certificate in HI & VI, Diploma in ASD; has dedicated over a decade of clinical and human resource development services in the disability sector. At present, as Director of SASR (Society for Advance Study in Rehabilitation), Nitika is working full time for the rehabilitation of individuals with developmental disabilities. She has contributed in development of Self-Learning Material for B.Ed. Special Education programme of IGNOU (Indira Gandhi National Open University).	She has also contributed as an invited expert for curriculum development for Diploma, B.Ed. and M.Ed. level teacher training programmes of RCI (Rehabilitation Council of India, Government of India). She has authored NIEPMD’s Handbook on Multiple Disabilities and contributed to several books, disability journals and magazines. Some of her written work has been translated into regional languages.
